How do i enable Turnitin plagiarism check on assignments?

Introduction

Brightspace uses Turnitin as a plagiarism checking tool. Turnitin is a tool which enables the use of plagiarism checking for assignments. At this moment Turnitin only checks the internet for plagiarism. We are investigating the possibility to connect to the (old) HR database so plagiarism also checks these documents.

Enable Turnitin

You can turn on plagiarism checking on an assignments. When making/editing an assignments you can turn on plagiarism checking under the tab

When clicking 'Manage Turnitin' there are several options you can check:

  1. this turns on plagiarism check on the assignment
  2. this allows students to view the plagiarism report
  3. either turn on plagiarism checking for all submissions or select which submissions to check manually

In the assignment overview you can see that plagiarism checking is turned on for an assignment when you see this icon:

View plagiarism reports

To view the plagiarism reports you need to go to the Assignments and click on a specific assignment to open it

After opening the assignment click on a specific percentage behind a submission to open the plagiarism report
